Main Street Bar & Billiards

My husband and I were in Gainesville FL coming back from Fort Myers working with homeowners after Hurricane Ian and couldn’t find anyone open that was serving food. We were starving and happened to come across this place and I’m so glad we did!! They have 17 pool tables and poker tables! The tables were in great shape as well as the sticks. We ordered a supreme pizza which was made fresh and I honestly can’t say I’ve had better!! It was amazing. The staff was friendly and the patrons were too!! I would highly recommend this place to everyone!!! 😊

This place is good to go. The workers are good to go! The patrons are good to go! They are open late. The PIZZA WAS A GREAT SURPRISE! WAS NOT EXPECTING IT TK BE LIKE IT WAS.

Being a student, I used to love Main Street. I’ve come back as an alumni, and a person with Celiac disease, and have never been more disgusted by how I was treated. Understandably, Main Street doesn’t allow outside food inside, however, as someone with an ADA protected disability and considering Main Street has no gluten-free food options, I was hoping to bring my bowl from Chipotle inside, so I could eat with my family who had already spend a few hundred dollars in billiards, food and booze. However, I was not only turned away, but I was belittled and my allergy/disability was openly made fun of as I was turned away. I tried to explain my situation, and the jerk at the door used air quotes to say “oh yeah, I have Celiac too” and rolled his eyes at me. They said that they didn’t care what my issue was, I had to sit out front and watch from outside as my family enjoyed their billards and drinks without me. I understand the policy, but I can say that I’ve never been openly mocked for having an allergy/disability. I unfortunately watched one of my favorite local Gainesville places die because of the two idiots at the front door (the evening of 12/17/22). You’d think in almost 2023, a place like this could and would do better. Unbelievable.

I personally love this place! I only recently started coming here becuz I play on 9 ball league now and it’s where we play mostly, and I would highly recommend his place. It’s very clean and very nice on the inside, it’s very spacious I honestly didn’t realize how big and open it was inside until I finally went inside. It’s would take deff doesn’t get crowded easily. They have very nice pool tables, the staff the ones I’ve met have always been very very kind sweet and helpful towards me, same even with customers strangers I’ve met in there it’s not a bad crowd not that I’ve ever seen never have I heard of there being any issues or bad fights or anything like that at all there. They have poker or Texas holdem or something along those lines in the back part of the place so if ur not into billiards there ya go, I believe they also have darts they have like a little separate lounge and chill space right near the bar if u wanted to chill drink hang out with friends etc and not have to worry about being in the way of anyone or it feeling cramped. The music is always at the perfect volume so u can hear it just fine even over large crowds and didn’t waste ur money on he jukebox and its no blowing ur ear drums ot either and u have to scream to talk to someone right next to u. If ur out and about and in the area and it sounds like ur type of scene I’d deff stop in and check it out I don’t feel it would disappoint and u would have a lot of fun.

So much fun. $10 an hour for the table. Pizza was delish and the music is on a jukebox in the wall. So you can kinda control the music. The place was really clean. Bathrooms are really outdated lol but the wait staff was polite and they brought the pizza right to us. We will be back
